How do I configure quiz timing settings in Canvas?

Accurately adjusting the quiz timing during or after a quiz build is an important skill that will save time and cut back on avoidable mistake when configuring a quiz.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Steps and procedures for building a new quiz

1. In Course Navigation, click the Quizzes link. 
2. To add a new quiz, click the Add Quiz button.   
3. Fill out quiz info, hit the Build button 
4. Click the Settings tab  
5. In the Settings tab, locate Time limit, toggle it on, and add your desired hours and minutes. (Set to 0 for no time limit ) 

Steps and procedures in existing quiz

1. In Course Navigation, click the Quizzes link.
2. Locate the quiz you would like to add timing to. 
3. Click the option button.
4. In the pop-up, click the Build link.
5. Click the Settings tab  
6. In the Settings tab, locate Time limit, toggle it on, and add your desired hours and minutes. (Set to 0 for no time limit )
