How do I add all items or a random set from an item bank to a quiz?
An effectively managed item bank offers you the ultimate flexibility to pull targeted or randomized questions across your course’s diverse topics, allowing you to design assessments with foresight, precision, and a clear, intentional focus on driving student academic success. By grounding your assessments in this structured approach, you leverage technology not for its own sake, but as a vehicle for intentional innovation and meaningful curriculum delivery. Ultimately, this thoughtful preparation minimizes student confusion, creating a highly structured and supportive environment where your students can learn and perform with absolute clarity. Furthermore, adopting this proactive workflow allows the technology to shoulder the heavy lifting, dramatically reducing your administrative burden and cognitive load so you can focus your energy entirely on impactful teaching.

TLC Pro-Tips for Course Enhancements
- Data-Informed Insights: If utilizing Canvas Quizzes or New Analytics, check your course data after the first week of the term. This insight will help you identify which resource folders students are accessing most frequently.
- Accessibility Check: Always run the native Canvas Accessibility Checker (the small person icon at the bottom of the Rich Content Editor) before publishing a new content page. This ensures all tables, text colors, and media elements remain fully accessible to all modern learners.
- Student Interaction: Consider integrating short, informal Canvas surveys. This active feedback measure lets you stay highly responsive to ongoing student academic and personal growth needs.
